The REPORT

Your personal project must include a report.
​
Your report demonstrates your learning throughout your project. Your personal project report should "summarize the experiences and skills recorded in the process journal". Reflection and self-evaluation are a key component of your process journal and should be reflected in your project report.
​
The report should follow the structure of the project objectives—investigating, planning, taking action and reflecting. It must also include evidence for all the strands of all criteria.
The report does not replace the product/outcome of the personal project. If the product/outcome of a personal project is in written form, such as an essay or novel, this is considered as distinct from the project report.

Length of Report
The Personal Project report must be a minimum of 1,500 words and a maximum of 3,500 words, not including contents page, appendices and bibliography.

Body of the Report must include:
Criterion A: Investigating
i. Define a clear goal & a global context for the project, based on personal interests
ii. Identify prior learning and subject specific knowledge relevant to the project
iii. Demonstrate research skills
Criterion B: Planning
i. Develop criteria for the product/outcome
ii. Plan and record the development process of the project
iii. Demonstrate self-management skills
Criterion C: Taking Action
i. Create a product or outcome in response to the goal, global context & criteria
ii. Demonstrate thinking skills
iii. Demonstrate communication & social skills
Criterion D: Reflection
i. Evaluate the quality of the product/success of the outcome against the success criteria
ii. Reflect on how completing the personal project has extended their knowledge of the topic and global context
iii. Reflect on their development as an IB learner through the project

Works Cited List must be presented in MLA 8 format.

Process Journal Extracts
You need to select a maximum of 10 process journal extracts which do not exceed 10 pages in total. They should be carefully selected, showing evidence demonstrating development in all strands of each criteria.
These extracts are submitted as appendices to the report, should be numbered 1 through 10, and MUST referenced in your report as evidence of your learning.

Selecting process journal extracts
You should select extracts that demonstrate how you have addressed each of the objectives, or annotate extracts to highlight this information. An extract may include:
