Timeline for Project
MAY/JUNE
Introduction & Investigation Phase:

Brainstorm & generate ideas

3rd May Introductory Meeting with all G9 Students
25th May Activity Day – Personal Project Developing Ideas
28th May PP Proposal form completed & handed in to Personal Project Coordinator
Initial meetings will be held with G9 Study Skills Teachers during study skills class time in June.
Supervisors will be finalised after the Summer Holidays, to accommodate new students & staff

WHILST YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SPEND ALL SUMMER BREAK WORKING ON YOUR PERSONAL PROJECT, YOU MUST COMPLETE…

MINIMUM EXPECTED:

Find 5 sources and analyse their relevance for your research purposes

Write 5 process journal entries

GOOD PROGRESS would be:

Find 10 sources and analyse their relevance for your research purposes

Write 10 process journal entries

Detailed plan/timeline of next steps for product making

EXCELLENT PROGRESS would include:

All of the above PLUS….

Detailed evaluation of all sources, against objective criteria, and their relevance to your project – identifying the different between reliable sources and useful sources

Detailed plan including logical steps with specific dates, deadlines, clear record of any adjustments

Exploration of different ways to make your product
JULY/AUGUST/SEPTEMBER
Planning Phase:

Finalise criteria (this should happen near the start of this phase)

Continue research- select, evaluate & acknowledge (cite) information

Work on product/outcome

At this point a draft a the investigation section of the report can be completed – Use the task-specific clarification for guidance
10th – 14th Sept 1st meeting with Supervisor – what has been done over summer/what needs to be completed in planning phase by end of September
NEW STUDENTS DON'T PANIC!
Extra support will be given to ensure you get on track with this project quickly.

Taking Action Phase:
Begin work on the product as soon as possible

PERSONAL PROJECT EXHIBITION
27th November - Exhibition Prep Day
28th November - Personal Project Exhibition Day - open 9:30 am - 2 pm
DECEMBER/JANUARY/FEBRUARY
Reflection & Report Writing Phase:

Review feedback from Exhibition

Evaluate quality of product against student developed criteria

Complete process journal entries on all 3 strands of reflection

Complete report – TAKING ACTION & REFLECTION SECTIONS
10th – 14th Dec 5th meeting with supervisor – share completed evaluation of product & exhibition presentation; Complete process journal entries related to Reflection criterion
By 18th Jan Report Criteria A & B must be handed to Supervisor for formative feedback
Supervisors should meet with students to go over written feedback
By 1st February Report Criteria C & D must be handed to Supervisor for formative feedback
Supervisors should meet with students to go over written feedback
11th – 14th Feb Final feedback meeting with supervisor* – complete academic honesty form
15th Feb Final Report due for Internal Standardisation - all work due in at this time – completed report, process journal extracts, evidence of product & academic honesty form (to be completed with supervisor)
